Open source and research
Amazon Science showed that a priming pipeline reusing pretrained Transformer weights (Qwen, Llama, Mistral) consumes less than 0.5% of the source model's pretraining token budget. At 32B scale, the resulting GKA hybrid is within 1% of its source Transformer trained on the same data, with half the KV cache; its throughput advantage grows from 1.50× at 16K tokens to 2.06× at 128K (GKA at 10 iterations).
